The 37th annual YWCA Women of Achievement Luncheon was held today
at the Dixon Elks Lodge.
Four hundred were in attendance getting together with
friends and colleagues to honor the accomplishments of outstanding women in
The Women of Achievement Luncheon is a huge fundraiser for The
YWCA. Area women were nominated for their accomplishments and
contributions to the workplace and communities.
The YWCA Women of Achievement Award catagories:
Pearl Woods Award for Business and Industry, Nominees Michelle Burns, Le Hartman, Pat Lachat, and Michelle Musgrove. This year The YWCA selected Pat Lachat.
Jane Reid Keefer Award for Professions and Education, Nominees Deb Cleary, Beth Hubbard, Janet Matheney, Julie Morse, Traci Mueller, and Alice Vetter, Awarded was Traci Mueller.
Crete Dillon Bowman Award for community leadership, Nominees were Karen Abele, Janna Groharing, Tekla Martin and Kris Noble, The YWCA selected Kris Noble.
L.L. Ely Award for Secretarial/Clerical Achievments. The nominees were Angie Delhotal, Marie Rombouts, and Roberta Vanderlin. The clerical award went to Angie Delhotal
Louise Bittorf Sullivan Award for Inspirational Woman. The nominees were Deborah Duerst, Brenda Helms, Christine Interone-Cutter, and Vicki Wright. This years winner Justice Vicki Wright.
Young Woman of Tomorrow Award for ages 15 to 22 years. Nominated were Tiara Munoz, Noelle Jones and Xena Trujillo, and selected was Tiara Munoz.
Spirit of Achievement Award for Posthumous Recognition, honored Pat Cambell, Dr. Christine Aker, Pam Knight and Pam Topper.
The YWCA of the SAUK Valley held it's first Women of Achievement Luncheon in 1982.
