The 2018 Midterm General Election has concluded Tuesday with over 57% of registered voters in Whiteside County turning out to vote.
In the Whiteside County Sheriff’s race John Booker will be the new
Sheriff for Whiteside County with 11,750. He defeated Republican challenger Kris Schmidt who garnered 9,645 votes.
Incumbent Tony McCombie, a Republican for the Illinois State Representative in the 71st Congressional District retained her seat despite a challenge from Democrat, Joan Padilla.
Representative Adam Kinzinger is projected to retain his seat with 96% of the precincts in at the writing of this story. Sara Dady, a Democrat challenged with for the 16th Congressional District seat.
Incumbent Cheri Bustos, a Democrat defeated William Fawell in the 17th Congressional District by winning 61.1% of the vote.
State Senator Neil Anderson in the 36th State Senate District squeaked by to defeat Gregg Johnson, a Democrat by only 1,323 votes.
J.B. Pritzker, a Democrat defeated incumbent Illinois Governor, Bruce Rauner.
