Sauk Valley Community College was the host site for International Trade Forum this week.
The purpose of the forum was to bring import and export opportunites and business potential to the Whiteside County area. Trade Dignataries from Chicago representing eight countries from around the world were able to meet with area business and community leaders.
Gary Camarano is the Economic Development Director and Enterprise Zone Administrator.
Gary has been at this position for two and half years and has traveled to Chicago in the past to meet with trade representatives. The intent of the forum was to bring awareness to the Whiteside County area, and let the trade dignitaries know that business does thrive beyond the boundaries of Chicago.
WSDR was able to spend a few minutes on the phone with Gary as he reported on the high points of the trade forum.
