Activity Report of Morrison Police

Morrison Chief of Police Brian Melton reports the following arrests made and citations issued since
Friday, January 17, 2020.


Arrests:


On Tuesday, January 21, 2020, at approximately 6:20 pm, Morrison Police conducted a traffic stop on a
vehicle, driven by Brittiny M. Starr, age 28 of Morrison, after receiving a complaint of reckless driving.
The traffic stop occurred on East Lincolnway at North Jackson Street, Morrison. As a result of the traffic
stop, Morrison Police arrested and charged Starr with Improper Lane Usage, Driving While License
Suspended, Operating Uninsured Vehicle, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Possession of Adult Use
Cannabis in a Motor Vehicle. Starr was also held pursuant to an Arrest Warrant issued by Carroll County
charging Starr with Contempt of Court. Starr was transported to the Whiteside County Jail.

DIXON POLICE DEPARTMENT

Tamara Hiatt-Glenn, age 25, of Amboy, Illinois, was arrested in the 1600 block of Tollway Road on January 22 th , 2020 at 11:30 p.m., for a Lee County Warrant for Failure to Appear/Contempt Non-Pay. Hiatt-Glenn was taken to Lee County Jail.

 

Mario J. Williams, age 18, of Dixon, Illinois, was arrested in the 300 block of West Everett Street on January 22 nd , 2019 at 9:44 p.m., for Driving While License Suspended. Williams was processed and released with a pending court date.


The charges are merely an allegation and all parties are presumed innocent until proven guilty.

Rock Falls Police Report

On January 21, 2020 Rock Falls Police arrested David C. Mix, age 33, of Rock Falls with Domestic Violence at 11:54 p.m. in the 1900 Block of 1 st Avenue. He was transported to the Whiteside County Jail.

 

On January 21, 2020 Rock Falls Police charged Isaac C. Morga, 27, of Rock Falls with; driving while license suspended, Whiteside County warrant for failure to appear – probation violation. He posted bond and was
released.

 

All charges are merely allegations and suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty.

Ogle County Sheriff's Report

Warrant Arrest
On 01/22/20 the following people were arrested for Ogle County
Outstanding Warrants:


 Frank Fenton, 55, of Byron for Domestic Battery Warrant. Fenton had a bond of $5000 / 10%. Fenton did post the $5000/ 10% bond and was released from the Ogle County Jail. Fenton has to return for court on 02/05/20 at 10:00 am.


Jay Moore, 45, of Rockford for Failure to Appear. Moore has a bond of $1,630, and Moore will return back to court on 01/24/20 at 9:00 am.


John R. Powell, 58, of Polo for Suspended Drivers License. Powell had a bond of $5,000/ 10%. Powell went to court and received a $5,000 recog. Powell was released from the Ogle County Jail and will return back to
court on 01/24/20 at 9:00 am.

 

Dominic N. Mireles , 37, of Rockford for Driving while License Suspended, Criminal Trespass to Residence, and Obstructing Identification. Mireles had a bond of $5000/10%, $5000/10%, and $3000/10%.  Mireles will go to
court on 01/23/20 at 1:00pm.

 

All charges are merely allegations and suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty.


Jonathan G. Dalton, 30, of Schaumburg for Failure to Appear. Dalton has a bond of $2159 and will go to court on 01/24/20 at 9:00 am.


 Andrew J. Wood, 24, of St. Clair, Mo for CDL not Obtained. Wood had a bond of $5,000/10%. Wood was released from the Ogle County jail and Wood will return to court on 03/30/20 at 9:00 am.


 Jeffrey M. Plantz, 22, of Dixon  for Disorderly Conduct, and Failure to Appear . Plantz had a bond of $3,000/10%, and $516. Plantz did go to court and has a bond of $516. Plantz will go to court on 01/24/20 at 9:00
am.


 Kendall Pelt , 47, of Mount Morris for DUI, Domestic Battery, and Bond Violation. Pelt has a bond of $100,000 / 10%.Pelt will return to court on 01/23/20 at 9:00 am.   
Warrant Arrest


On 01/21/20 Reginald Turner , 47, of Dekalb was arrested for Failure to Appear. Turner had a bond of $1976. After going to court Turner had a bond of $75. Turner did post bond and was released from the Ogle County
Jail. Turner will return to court on 02/24/20 at 9:00am.


Driving While License Revoked


On 01/21/2020 at 6:36 p.m., following a traffic stop in the 5000 block of IL Rte 2,  Deputies arrested Adam J. Czernicki, age 61 of Roscoe, for Driving While License Revoked and Aggravated Driving While License Suspended.  Czernicki was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond, and will appear in court on 01/22/2020.

Friday, January 10, 2020.


Arrests:


On Friday, January 10, 2020, at approximately 2:30 am, Morrison Police responded to 529 East Wall
Street, Morrison after receiving a 911 call of a female screaming. As Morrison Police arrived at this
residence, a female, later identified as Amy L. Castillo, age 39 of Morrison, was observed swinging a bat
into a window on the back of Resthave Home. Castillo was first, transported to the Morrison Community
Hospital by Emergency Medical Services. Once treated and released, Castillo was arrested and charged
with Criminal Damage to Property and was transported to the Whiteside County Jail.

DIXON POLICE DEPARTMENT

Kelsi Love, age 20, of Dixon, Illinois, was arrested in the 1200 block of Long Street on January 13, 2020 at 11:32 p.m., for Driving While License Suspended and a Lee County Failure to Appear Warrant. Love was processed and released after posting bond.

 

Camille L. Crowder, age 45, of Romeoville, Illinois, was arrested in the 500 block of South Galena Avenue on January 13 th , 2020 at 3:13 p.m., for a Lee County Warrant for Contempt/ Non-Payment. Crowder posted bond and was released.

 

Dustin Hanabarger, age 30, of Dixon, Illinois, was arrested in the 100 block of East 6 th Street on January 15, 2020 at 12:20 a.m., for Disorderly Conduct. Hanabarger was processed and released on Individual Bond.

ILLINOIS STATE POLICE ARRESTS

Lou Vergil Robinson, 74, of Hermitage, TN, was stopped for a motor carrier safety inspection on 1/8/2020 at 10:53 a.m. on Interstate 39 southbound at milepost 99 in Ogle County and charged with operating without no USDOT authority, improper use of registration, no record of duty status, and overweight on registration. Robinson and the vehicle were placed out of service. Robinson was released on an I- bond.

Morrison Police Report

Morrison Chief of Police Brian Melton reports the following arrests made and citations issued since
Friday, January 3, 2020.


Arrests:


On Friday, January 3, 2020, at approximately 2:00 pm, Morrison Police attempted a welfare check on
Shane A. Gaffey, age 45, at his residence of 631 E. Lincolnway, Apt. G, Morrison. The welfare check
was necessary due to complaints received on his behavior. As a result of the incident, Gaffey was
arrested and charged with Aggravated Battery (to a Police Officer) and was transported to the Whiteside
County Jail. Morrison Police were assisted by the Whiteside County Sheriff’s Office, Illinois State
Police, Fulton Police, Prophetstown Police, Lyndon Police, Albany Police and Erie Police.


On Tuesday, January 7, 2020, at approximately 5:00 pm, Morrison Police conducted a traffic stop on a
vehicle driven by Zachary M. Kinison, age 26 of Morrison, for a moving violation. The traffic stop
occurred in the 600 block of West Lincolnway, Morrison. As a result of the stop, Morrison Police
arrested and charged Kinison with Speeding and Driving While License Revoked. A passenger, Lorisa
M. Flores, age 30 of Morrison, was arrested pursuant to an Order of Commitment issued by Whiteside
County. Kinison was released at the scene with a Notice to Appear and Flores was transported to the
Whiteside County Jail.


On Thursday, January 9, 2020, at approximately 4:00 pm, Morrison Police responded to a 911 call of a
domestic dispute at 511 East Main Street, Morrison. As a result of the investigation and with the
assistance of the Whiteside County Sheriff’s Office, Vincent J. Cavallo, age 25 of Morrison, was arrested
and charged with Domestic Battery. Vincent was transported to the Whiteside County Jail. The Morrison
Community Hospital Emergency Medical Services also responded and transported the victim to MCH.

Ogle County Sheriff's Report

Domestic Battery

 

On 1/12/20 at 6:05 AM, Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies responded to 116 Primrose Lane in reference to a domestic dispute.  After an investigation Deputies arrested Dyanna Merritt, age 38 of Davis Junction, for Domestic Battery.  Deputies also arrested Dennis Vineyard, age 47 of Davis Junction, for Domestic Battery and Violation of Bail Bond Conditions.  Merritt was transported to the Ogle County Jail where she is being held in lieu of bond.  Vineyard was treated at Rochelle Community Hospital for his non life threatening injuries before being transported to Ogle County Jail where he is being held in lieu of bond.


Driving While License Suspended

 

On 1/10/20 at 3:21 PM, Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies conducted a traffic stop at Route 251/Big Mound Road.  After an investigation, Deputies arrested Lindsey Roberts, age 34 of Oregon, for Driving While License Revoked.  Roberts was transported to the Ogle County Jail where she was held in lieu of bond.

Morrison Police Report

Arrests:

 

On Saturday, December 21, 2019 at approximately 12:20 am, Morrison Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by Timothy W. Hansen, age 54 of Morrison, for an equipment violation. The traffic stop occurred on South Genesee Street and Park Street. As a result of the traffic stop, Morrison Police arrested and charged Hansen with Driving Under the Influence (Alcohol) and a Tail Light Violation. Hansen was transported to the Whiteside County Jail.

Dixon Police Department

Joseph L. Wilson, age 23, of Dixon, Illinois, was arrested in the 200 block of South Hennepin Avenue on December 31st, 2019 at 4:57 p.m., for a Lee County Warrant for Failure to Appear. Wilson posted bond and was released with a pending court appearance.

 

Savon D. Monroe, age 24, of Dixon, Illinois, was arrested on Rock Island Road near Apahced Drive on, December 31st, 2019 at 10:57 a.m., for a Lee County Warrant for Failure to Appear. Monroe posted bond and was released with a pending court appearance. 

 

Cameron J. Forsberg, age 18, of Dixon, Illinois, was arrested in the 400 block of Jackson Avenue on January 2 nd , 2020 at 7:49 a.m., for Criminal Damage to Property and Criminal Trespass to Real Property. Forsberg was processed and released.

 

Allyison M. Mucci, age 18, of Morrison, Illinois, was arrested in the 400 block of Jackson Avenue on January 2 nd , 2020 at 7:49 a.m., for Criminal Trespass to Real Property. Mucci was processed and released.

Illinois State Police

On 1/1/2020 at 11:23 a.m., the Illinois State Police District 1 and Lee County Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of a white Hyundai Elantra in the ditch on Interstate 39 southbound at milepost 97 in Lee County. Troopers arrested the driver, Amber Dawn Piziali, 35, of Rosedale, Wisconsin, for driving under the influence of alcohol, illegal
transportation of alcohol, driving while license suspended, and improper lane usage.


Piziali was released on an I-bond. Illinois State Police were assisted on scene by the Lee
County Sheriff’s Office, Rochelle Police Department, and Rochelle Fire/EMS.


All subjects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Two Vehicle Accident with Multiple Injuries in Ogle County

On 12/27/19 at 12:02 pm Ogle County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a 2 vehicle accident with injuries at the intersection of Mt. Morris Road and IL RTE 72 in rural Leaf River. 

 

A Honda passenger car driven by Victor Heather, 18, of Oregon, was southbound on Mt. Morris Road approaching the intersection with IL RTE 72.  Numerous witnesses and evidence at the scene indicate that Heather failed to stop at the stop sign and struck a Kia SUV that was traveling eastbound on IL RTE 72.  Heather’s vehicle came to rest in the intersection, facing North.  The Kia SUV was pushed into the south ditch upon impact, overturned, and came to rest in the ditch on its side; facing East.  Heather was extricated from the vehicle and transported to Mercy Health’s Javon Bea Hospital in Rockford for treatment of serious injuries by the Mt Morris Ambulance. 

 

The Kia was driven by Jason Viverito, 42, of Davis Junction.  Passengers in the Kia were: Steve Klassen, 62, of Davis Junction, Dawn Klassen, 58, of Davis Junction, Curtis Sherman, 63, of Loves Park, and a 5 year old female juvenile from Davis Junction.  All occupants of the Kia were transported to Swedish American Hospital in Rockford for treatment of serious injuries by EMS from Byron, Leaf River, and Forreston. 

 

This accident remains under investigation.

Ogle County Sheriff's Report

Domestic Battery

On 12-26-19, at approximately 8:40 am, Deputies were dispatched to Primrose Ln, Davis Junction reference a Domestic Battery.  After a brief investigation, Deputies arrested Dennis S. Vineyard, age 47, of Davis Junction for Domestic Battery. Dennis was transported to the Ogle County Jail and held in lieu of bond.

 

Warrant Arrest

On 12/26/19 Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies arrested Lonita Stokes, age 30, of Chicago on a outstanding Ogle County Warrant for Driving While License Suspended. Stokes had a bond of $2,000/10%. Stokes posted bond was released from the Ogle County Jail. Stokes will return to court on 1/17/20 at 9:00 a.m.

 

No Valid Driver's License

On 12/24/19 at approximately 6:28 Deputies responded to a single vehicle accident near the intersection Baileyville Rd. and Montague Rd. After further investigation Michael Stenli, age 50 of Freeport was placed under arrest for No Valid Driver's License. Deputies were assisted at the scene by Forreston EMS. The accident remains under investigation.

 

Driving While License Suspended

On 12/23/19 at approximately 7:42 PM Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies initiated a traffic stop on  Interstate 88 near mile marker 77 1/2.  After further investigation Amanda Anderson, age 34 of Rock Falls, was placed under arrest for Driving While License Suspended.

 

Driving Under the Influence

On 12/24/2019 at approximately 8:30 AM Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies performed a traffic stop just into Lee County on Lost Nation Road.  After investigation, Deputies placed Ryan Wakenight, age 33 of Polo under arrest for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol.  Wakenight was additionally issued citations for Speeding, a Loud Excessive Noise Coming from the Vehicles Exhaust, and Improper Display of a License Plate.  Wakenight was transported to the Ogle County Jail and released on an I-Bond. 

 

Driving While License Revoked

On 12/23/2019 at approximately 2:23 PM Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies performed a traffic stop in the 7,000 block of N. IL Rte. 2.  After investigation, Deputies placed Franklin Attaway, age 55 of Oregon under arrest for Driving While License Revoked.  Attaway was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond.

 

Traffic Arrest

On 12/19/19 at approximately 8:08 p.m., following a traffic stop on I-39 at mile marker 104 Deputies arrested Abel A. Cardenas, age 29 of Rockford, for No Valid Driver's License and Pedro Cardenas-Alonso, age 42 of Rockford, for a valid warrant.  Both were transported to the Ogle County Jail where they were held in lieu of bond.


All subjects are considered innocent until proven guilty.

DIXON POLICE DEPARTMENT

Vincent M. Searls, age 40, of Dixon, Illinois, was arrested in the 300 block of West 2 nd Street on December 22 nd , 2019, at 1:21 p.m., for Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and for a Lee County Warrant for an application to increase bond.
Searls was processed and taken to the Lee County Jail.

 

Laurie A. Gibson, age 54, of Dixon, Illinois, was arrested in the 700 block of West 3 rd Street on December 22 nd , 2019, at 12:32 p.m., for No Valid Driver’s License.
Gibson was released with a Notice to Appear.

 

Erik M. Vogeler, age 25, of Iowa, was arrested in the 100 block of East 2 nd Street on December 22 nd , 2019, at 3:47 p.m., for a Dekalb County Warrant for Failure to Appear. Vogeler posted bond and was released with a pending court appearance.

 

Kenneth Blackmon, age 34, of Rock Falls, Illinois, was arrested in the 300 block of West First Street on December 21, 2019 at 8:08 p.m., for Domestic Battery (Subsequent Offense) and Domestic Battery. Blackmon was taken to Lee County.

 

John Hoyle, age 37, of Dixon, Illinois, was arrested in the 300 block of Tile Factory on December 22, 2019 at 12:33 a.m., for Driving While License Revoked.
Hoyle was processed and released on Individual Bond.

DIXON POLICE DEPARTMENT

John Allen, age 49, of Dixon, Illinois, was arrested in the 400 block of East First Street on December 18th, 2019 at 1:30 p.m., for a Lee County Warrant for Possession of Methamphetamine, Aggravated Assault of a Peace Officer, and Resisting a Peace Officer. Allen was processed and taken to the Lee County Jail.

 

Jennifer L. Oltmans, age 47, of Dixon, Illinois, was arrested in the 200 block of east 2nd Street on December 19 th , 2019 at 12:59 a.m., for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol. Oltmans was processed and released on Individual Bond.

 

Zachary A. S Korchmar , age 18 , of , Batavia , Illinois , was issued a city ordinance citation in the 400 block of South Galena Avenue on December 18, 2019 at 11:30 p.m. for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia .

Bergstrom posted bond and was released.

 

John B. Schmidt, age 32, of Dixon, Illinois, was arrested in the 800 block of West
1 st Street on December 13 th , 2019 at 1:30 p.m., for a Lee County warrant for
Violation of Drug Court. Schmidt was unable to post bond and was taken to the
Lee County Jail.

ILLINOIS STATE POLICE ARRESTS

Nicholas A. Gerdes, 33, of Walnut, was stopped for a registration violation
on 12/07/2019 at 5:19 p.m. on Interstate 39 northbound at milepost 87 in Lee County and
charged with driving while license suspended and no insurance. Gerdes was released on
an I-bond.


Vanessa E. Gomez, 25, of Rochelle, was stopped for speeding on 12/08/2019 at 2:10
a.m. on Illinois Route 251 at Lakeview Drive in Rochelle and charged with driving under
the influence of alcohol and driving while license suspended. Gomez was released on an
I-bond. Gomez was released on an I-bond.


All subjects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Dixon Police and Lee County Sheriff's Office Joint Operations Group

On December 9th, 2019, the Dixon Police Department completed an investigation into the sale of illegal drugs in the Dixon area.   

 

Members of the Dixon Police and Lee County Sheriff’s Office Joint Operations Group executed a search warrant at 803 South 1st Drive in Ashton, IL. The search warrant resulted with the arrest of Juan C. Urena, age 21, of Ashton.   

 

During the execution of the search warrant, officers located 47 grams of methamphetamine, 459 grams of cannabis, and various pieces of equipment used during the packaging and distribution of illegal narcotics.  Urena was also charged for multiple cocaine delivery charges.           

 

Urena was charged with Possession with Intent to Deliver Methamphetamine (15 – 100 grams), a Class X Felony, Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine (15-100 grams), a Class 1 Felony, three counts of Unlawful Delivery of a Controlled Substance (1-15 grams of cocaine), a Class 1 Felony, three counts of Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance (less than 15 grams of cocaine), a Class 4 Felony, Unlawful Possession of Cannabis with Intent to Deliver (100-500 grams), a Class 3 Felony, and Unlawful Possession of Cannabis (100-500 grams), a Class 4 Felony. Urena was processed and taken to the Lee County Jail.

Activity Report of Morrison Police

Morrison Chief of Police Brian Melton reports the following arrests made and citations issued since
Wednesday, November 27, 2019.


Arrests:


On Wednesday, November 27, 2019, at approximately 11:56 pm, Morrison Police conducted a traffic stop
on a vehicle driven by Jose D. Hernandez Avalos, age 63 of Rock Falls. The traffic stop occurred on East
Lincolnway at North Jackson Street, Morrison for a lane violation. As a result of the investigation during
the traffic stop, Morrison Police arrested and charged Hernandez Avalos with Driving Under the
Influence of Alcohol, Improper Lane Usage and Operating Uninsured Vehicle. Hernandez Avalos was
transported to the Whiteside County Jail.

DIXON POLICE DEPARTMENT

Veronica L. Del Hoyo, age 50, of Dixon, Illinois, was arrested in the 1600 block of West 9 th Street, on December 4, 2019 at 11:10 p.m., for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, BAC > .08, Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, and Illegal Transportation of Alcohol. Del Hoyo was processed and released on a Notice to Appear.

 

Cory Bradly, age 29, of Dixon, was issued a city ordinance in the 2100 block of
West 4 th Street on December 6 th , 2019, at 3:33 a.m., for Possession of Drug
Paraphernalia.

 

Tammy Lund, age 46, of Dixon, was issued a city ordinance in the 900 block of
King Court on December 5 th , 2019, at 8:47 p.m., for a Illegal Burning .
