4-H Quilting SPIN Club, Next Date January 14, 2017- 2-4 pm, Naaman Diehl Auditorium, Mt. Carroll

A Quilting SPIN Club will meet monthly starting in October for ages 8-18 and run through April on Saturday afternoons from 2-4pm at Naaman Diehl Auditorium in Mt. Private Pesticide Applicator Test Only Site, January 18, 2018-10am– Loveland Community Building, Dixon

To become certified, you must pass a closed-book, 50 question examination administered by representatives of the Illinois Department of Agriculture (IDA). Once passed, a three-year certification license will be issued by the IDA upon receipt of a licensing fee.  University of Illinois Extension Unit 4 will be hosting a TEST ONLY site on January 18, 2018 at 10:00am at the following location:  Loveland Community Building, 513 West 2nd St, Dixon IL. Kids & Dogs Game Day, Jan 27, Feb 24 & March 24, 2018-10am- Granny Rose K-9 Enrichment Center, Dixon

Come enjoy a fun day with your dog. You and your dog will participate in 5-6 games taught by 4-H volunteer and professional dog trainer, Pat Manernach. Climate Reality Presentation, January 31, 2018- 6-7pm- Lee County Extension Office, Amboy

Climate Reality will be presented by Master Naturalist Mark Jordan. This presentation will focus on the current affects, impacts, and actions that can be taken to alleviate the consequences of a warming plant. Mark will show what others (people, governments at different levels and businesses) are doing to give reason to hope that we can successfully tackle this crisis. Certified Livestock Managers Training, February 15, 2018-8:30-12:30pm- 307 S Madison St.-Community RM, Morrison

 

The Illinois Livestock Management Facilities Act of 1997 requires livestock producers to receive training through the U of I Extension CLM  Training Program. This program provides livestock producers with the best management practices for managing and handling their manure. Carroll County 4-H Livestock & Dairy Judging, March 17, 2018-8:00am-Carroll County Highway Bldg, Mt. Carroll

Saturday, March 17, will be the annual 4-H & FFA Livestock & Dairy judging contests, at the Carroll Co. Highway Garage west of Mt. Carroll on Rt. 64. Registration for the livestock contest will be 8:00 a.m. - 8:45 a.m., with the contest starting at 9:00 a.m. sharp.  At this time 4-H'ers and FFA members will judge steers, heifers, production heifers, swine, sheep and have a questions class.

Dairy judging registration will start immediately following the Livestock judging contest.  Registration will be from 11:45 – 12:15 p.m., with the contest starting at 12:30 p.m.  Contact Leanne Rahn at University of Illinois Extension Office 815-244-9444, or lrahn@illinois.edu with any questions.
